Students will learn the relationships between the economic policy and economical history.
Connections of the present results with the past experiences,
What is historical time and what is the role of it, to understand the probabilities in future?
How to be used to being simulated the present appearances with the former economic events.

 --COURSE CONTENT
1. Week  19th and 20th Century Ottoman economy and impacts of it to the Post-Ottoman years.
2. Week  Economic circumstances between the 1920's and 1930's as the beginning of the New Republic of Turkey.
3. Week  From the 1929's Big Crisis to the 1940's the economic étatism in New Republic.
4. Week  In 1930's decade, 1st and 2nd Industrial Programmé and the industrial incentives of the state.
5. Week  In 1940's, economic and social transformations and the impacts of the 2nd World War in Turkish economy.
6. Week  In 1950's the developments of the role of government and foreign trade in industry.
7. Week  The beginnings of development plannings in 1960's. Untill 1980, the common characteristics of the plans.
8. Week  Midterm
9. Week  the beginnings of the development programmé in 1960's and the common characteristics of the plans.
10. Week  In 1990's evolutions of commodity, labor, and money markets. the beginning of privatization in public.
11. Week  the reasons and the results of the April 5th Crisis.
12. Week  At the beginning of the 21st century, the first crisis and its impacts in Turkey.
13. Week  Privatization, regulation, and deregulation.
14. Week   The Budget improvements, the governance in public and the effects of Postfordism on Turkey.
15. Week  Possibilities of 2007 World turbulence effects on Turkish economy. General reassessment on the lecture.
