Will be able to explain the basic concepts and development of sociology of education. Define society, education and social institutions. Compares various theories in sociology of education.
Will be able to evaluate the social functions of education and schools. Define the characteristics of education as a social system. Explain the social structure and schooling of the school. Evaluates the cultural, economic and political foundations of education.
Will be able to use the sociological perspective in understanding education systems and schools. Define the sociological perspective. Adapt the sociological perspective to the field of education.
