Know the philosophical foundations of modern teaching approach and discuss their place in chemistry teaching.
comprehend the teaching methods and techniques that are quite effective in science and especially chemistry education
Prepare instructional materials and activities to be used in chemistry teaching.
Know which instructional techniques to use according to students' levels and the subject.
Know assessment techniques to be used in teaching chemistry and measure students' gains multidirectionally.
Describe the characteristics of science literacy and evaluate himself/herself in terms of the characteristics that should have science literacy.
Explain the purpose and importance of chemistry education.
Become aware of teaching methods and techniques that can be used for chemistry education.

 --COURSE CONTENT
1. Week  Comparing and discussing of constructivist and behaviorist learning theories in terms of their arguments upon learning.
2. Week  Introducing the basic component of pedagogical content knowledge, that a chemistry teacher should have knowledge of, and examining them seperately.
3. Week  What is the concept? Applying various concept map techniques in the class and discussing them upon effectiveness the learning.
4. Week  Introducing pedagogical content knowledge and its components.
5. Week  Learning cycles;applying 5E model based activity in the classroom and discussing the activity.
6. Week  Applying inquiry based lesson plan in the classroom, discussing the inquiry teaching method and presenting the theoretical framework of method.
