Students will be able to learn the measurements utilized for the classification of modern dialects of Turkish
Be able to recognize main properties of Turkish dialects
Be able to realize in what Turkish dialect a text belonging to any Modern Turkish dialects is written

 --COURSE CONTENT
1. Week  Short information about Azeri Turks, Republic of Azerbaijan and forms of Azerbaijani Turkish. The alphabets, Cyrillic and New Latin, used in Republic
2. Week  Vowel system of Azerbaijani Turkish, different vowels, vowel harmony (Comparative to Turkey Turkish.) Reading and writing studies on Azerbaijani texts
3. Week  Vowel variability (Comparative studies between old Turkish and New Turkish)
4. Week  Consonant system, various consonants, consonant variability (Comparative studies between old Turkish and New Turkish) harmony and disharmony of conson
5. Week  Other facts of sound: similarity, contraries, consonant derivations, fall of vowels changing place.
6. Week  Summary of sound knowledge
7. Week  Exercises.
8. Week  Mid-term exam
9. Week  Affixes (different from Turkey Turkish.) inflection of nouns, suffixes, personal and possessive pronouns.
10. Week  Inflection of verbs: personal suffixes. Present Tenses.
11. Week  Inflection of verbs: past tense, past perfect and future tense.
12. Week  Inflection of verbs
13. Week  Inflection of verbs: Order and Optative. Inflection of verbs: Conditionals
14. Week  Participles (adjective and adverb) Directive verb: positive and negative forms. Adverbs and prepositions.
