The main purpose of Journalism Department is to introduce qualified and trained staff to the press sector. In this context, training staff who can follow the developments of events, cause-effect relationships and it is able to understand the connections between people and events within the framework of the basic principles of the profession of journalism is intended. At the same time, providing students information about technical and technological skills and knowledge required by the profession of journalism are also essential. For this purpose, there is a variety of both theoretical and practical courses. In the first two years of four year education, students learn general information about social sciences and theoretical knowledge related to communication discipline. In the last two years, students are expected to specialize with the elected courses selected inaccordance with students' career plans. Department offer voluntary job training both in public sector and private institutions and offer experience by close relationships with public sector and private organizations. In the Departmentof Journalism, there is master's and doctoral training as well as the four-yearbachelor's degree.
