General Information
Gazi University Faculty of Sport Sciences founded in Republic Period is Turkey''''''''''''''''s oldest and most well-established educational institutions in their respective fields. The Department of Physical Education affiliated to Gazi Secondary Teacher Training Institute in 1926 started to train teachers for secondary schools in the academic year 1932-1933. In 1982, it was gathered with the 19 May Youth and Sports Academy. In the same year, it was renamed the Physical Education and Sports Department of Gazi Education Faculty (Law No. 41). Later, in 1992, it was renamed School of Physical Education and Sports. Our faculty aims to provide the highest level of education in the field of Physical Education and Sports Sciences and to provide our students with the necessary basic knowledge in their profession in the best way. Besides, the aim of the faculty is to educate the researchers as the people who can find the right solutions to the problems in a short time and follow the developments in science and technology. Our faculty continues its education with four departments as “Physical Education and Sports Teaching”, “Coaching Training”, “Sports Management” and “Recreation”.
